Polyester Yarn is a common synthetic fiber used to make fabrics and yarns. It's often blended with other natural fibers to add extra strength and stability. It is also a popular choice for knitted fabrics, due to its resistance against wrinkles and ease of care.
Textured Yarn: Textured Yarn is a type of yarn that has been processed in order to alter its properties, such as structure, tensile strength, crimp, bulk, and stretchability. The process of texturing is a common method that most manufacturers use to produce synthetic yarns for specific purposes.
Traditionally, the term "textured" referred to how the yarn felt to the touch, but today it can be used to describe a specific type of processed yarn that has been altered in some way. For example, some textured yarns may have loops or coils that create a fuzzy surface and provide a softer feel to the finished product.
The texturing process can be a mechanical or chemical process. It can involve a twisting of the fibers or filaments, and it can be accomplished by using friction discs or magnetic spindles.
There are two different types of textured yarn: Friction Textured Yarn and Heat-Fixed (HE) Textured Yarn. Both are twisted, but the former is heated to permanently fix the twist.
These textured yarns are usually available in different deniers and filaments, and they can be used for a variety of purposes. Some of them are also coated with a protective coating to prevent them from becoming damaged by water or liquids.
Semi Dull Textured Yarn: These textured yarns are a combination of both partially oriented (POY) and drawn (POY/DTY) polyester yarns. They are typically made in low or medium lusters. They can be woven or knitted for many different uses, including outer/inner garments, upholstery, and furniture.
They are manufactured by texturizing partially oriented yarns and are available in various deniers and filaments. They can be a replacement for cotton and cotton blend yarns.
High-Speed Draw Texturised Yarn: These textured yarns have a soft crimp, good bulk and texture with a cotton feel, and very high durability and retention properties. They are manufactured by drawing polyester multifilament yarns that have been twisted in a high-speed, draw-texturizing machine.
These textured yarns are produced with high-quality anti-static lubricating oils and adequate interlacement to ensure that they do not warp without sizing. They are packed in sea-worthy cartons, taped with BOPP, and strapped by polypropylene strips before being dispatched.
The elongation of these textured yarns is well-controlled and monitored on captive weaving installations for consistency. Electronic package-size measuring units are used to ensure that the texturized yarn is of uniform size.
Counts 21-30s and 31-40s are the most dominant count groups spun. The counts 41-60s and 11-20s are not far behind.
A p/v blend of polyester and viscose is the most common combination. This is a very popular blend and can be found in most knitted fabrics.
These textured yarns are produced on the latest high-speed draw-texturizing machines that can handle different deniers and filaments. They are a replacement for cotton and cotton blend yarns, and they have very high durability and retention properties.
