What Is Polyester DTY Yarn?
Polyester DTY Yarn is a kind of highly twisted filament yarn used in making various types of fabrics. This type of filament yarn is made up of high-tenacity, fast elasticized polyester fibers that are mainly used in making home textiles, fashion fabric, denim, terry towel, and other fabrics.
Polymer DTY ( Drawn Textured Yarn ) is produced by twisting polyester POY (Partially Oriented Yarn) through the use of various processing and manufacturing techniques. The strands of polyester polymer are sequentially twisted and drawn to produce a textured yarn with multiple cyclical and network points, which provide extra bulkiness and stretchiness to the fabric.
The crimping, twisting, and texturizing technologies used in the production of textured polyester yarns allow for greater design and pattern flexibility as well as better air permeability in fabric. This technology also improves the drape and comfort of the final product.
It is manufactured by texturising partially oriented polyester multifilament yarn using texturizing machines. This process results in a twisted and durable, high-stretch polyester multifilament yarn that is very similar to cotton in terms of texture and durability.
This polyester textured multifilament yarn is characterized by soft crimp, high bulk, and excellent durability and retention properties as well as the ability to resist heat-sensitive environments. It is available in Semi-Dull, Full Dull, and Bright lusters.
Another variation of Polyester DTY is Cationic DTY. This polyester textured multifilament yarn has been made from Catonic PET Chips that are produced during the melting and stretching operations on the POY filament.
These polyester textured multifilament yarns are highly twisted to produce an extremely smooth, densely woven fabric that has high durability and strength, excellent air permeability, and is aesthetically pleasing. It is also a preferred replacement for cotton blend fabrics because of its less moisture-observing nature, which is especially beneficial when used to make clothing, upholstery, and other items that need to be kept dry.
The twisted and textured fibers are then subjected to a series of processes that include heat setting in a twisted condition, which produces polyester DTY yarn with a higher bulk and stronger elasticity. The heat-setting process creates durable crimps, twists, and interlaces on the fiber, which gives the fabric greater flexibility, strength, and aesthetic appeal.
This textured polyester yarn is available in Raw White color and can be dyed with any color master batch to obtain the desired color. This technique is more efficient than traditional dope dyeing, and the colored dyes are evenly distributed at each & every part of the yarn.
It can be produced in different Deniers and is commonly available in Semi-Dull & Full-Dull. This polyester textured multifilament is used for making various types of fabrics such as bed sheets, curtains, carpets, and rugs.
In the Texiler system, the molten polyester melt is transferred to polycondensation units that are cooled and filtered in a separate process. This molten polyester melt is then passed through the spinning manifolds and spinnerets using variable speed-driven spinning pumps to produce high-quality yarns. The resulting polyester yarns are then twisted and woven to produce various types of fabrics, including apparel, automobile seat covers, luggage, and furnishings.
